Revenue Accountant: Boston , MA (229766)
Job Description
Rapidly expanding software company is currently seeking a Senior Revenue Accountant. The Senior Revenue Accountant will report directly to the Senior Director and will be responsible for the general ledger accounting, reconciliations, reporting, and analysis of revenue and related accounts, including deferred revenue, deferred costs, accounts receivable, and allowance for doubtful accounts. The Senior Revenue Accountant will work closely with billing, accounts receivable, and sales operations to ensure compliance with revenue recognition standards.

Responsibilities
Prepare journal entries and general ledger reconciliations associated with revenue and related accounts
Interpret customer contracts for proper revenue recognition, some of which may be highly complex
Develop and maintain customer revenue bridges and analytics
Develop and maintain AR reserving model and lead the monthly review meeting
Track pre- and post-acquisition revenue and AR
Analyze and report key revenue metrics and results
Work with Billing, Accounts Receivable, and Sales to proactively manage revenue recognition issues
Prepare revenue related financial schedules and financial statement disclosures
Participate in the transition to the New Revenue Standard ASC 606
Assist with establishing and maintaining accounting control procedures
Assist with the completion of monthly, quarterly and annual closing procedures and financial reporting requirements
Assist with preparation of financial reports including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements
Other accounting duties as requested and/or determined

Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field
1+ years’ experience in accounting, including extensive financial reporting, general ledger analysis and reconciliations in a corporate accounting environment
1+ years of experience in revenue accounting, preferable in a software/SaaS environment
Familiarity with SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) a plus
Experience with data mining and analytical software a plus
Proficient in Microsoft Office suite including Word, Excel, Visio and PowerPoint
Comfortable interacting with a variety of skill levels with a demonstrated ability to lead through influence
Strong analytical and organization skills. 

Compensation Package 
Up to $75,000 depending on experience
Discretionary Bonus
