Controllers were pacing, CFOs on one screen,
Fueled purely by caffeine and year-end routine.
Another firm sent “help”… it didn’t go well.
That’s when KBW stepped in and saved the Excel.
All year we’ve been busy, quietly on the hunt,
Finding the stars who carry the weight up front.
The closers. The fixers. The calm in the storm.
The ones who make chaos feel oddly well-formed.
Now the books are aligned and the team’s locked in tight,
Right people, right seats, just in time for the light.

Honoring Our First Sid Kotlus Award Winners
This year, we introduced a new tradition at KBW Financial Staffing & Recruiting: The Sid Kotlus Award. Created in memory of Sid Kotlus, a giant in our industry and a beloved member of our KBW family, this award celebrates the spirit Sid brought to every room he entered.
Sid was more than a top producer. He was a mentor, a connector, and the elder statesman who spent his days helping others grow. He believed in raising the bar, sharing wisdom, and celebrating wins.
And he did it all with a signature mix of heart, humor, and a deep love for Mexico, where he spent half the year enjoying good company, great stories, and—of course—tequila.
This award will be given annually to the producer with the greatest year-over-year total GM growth, recognizing the Top 3 performers and ultimately naming one winner. It’s our way of ensuring Sid’s legacy continues to inspire current and future generations of KBW producers.
